Repertoire
The talented young Finnish tenor Joska Lehtinen gave his German debut 2009 as Lindoro in „L'italiana in Algeri“ by Rossini (version for children) at State Opera Nürnberg. After that he was an ensemble member of the Komische Oper Berlin in 2010/11 and 2011/12. His roles there included Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Remendado in Carmen, Yan-Ko in Das bronzene Pferd, der Haushofmeister bei der Feldmarschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, Nathanael/Spalanzani in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Gaston, Vicomte de Letorière in La Traviata, Borsa in Rigoletto, Narraboth in Salome, Chevalier de la Force in Dialogues des Carmelites and Father in Sieben Songs/Die sieben Todsünden, among others. 2012/13 saw his debut in the role of Janek in The Makropolous Case at the Finnish National Opera and since then, he’s been invited as a freelance artist to return and sing in all the major theatres and concert venues in Finland; among theses engagements figure the role of Don Basilio at Tampere Opera and Don Ottavio at Helsinki Festival. In 2014/2015, Lehtinen also appeared as Don Jose and as Alfredo at Theater Passau, and as Cassio at the Gut Immling Opera Festival. Some highlights of the 2016/2017 season include Pollione in Norma at the State Opera Nürnberg and State Opera Mainz, as well as Ernesto in Don Pasquale and the title role of Faust at Theater Vorpommern.
Recent engagements include a.o. Pollione in Norma at State Opera Mainz, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte at Staufer Festspiele, Cassio in Otello at Moskow Bolshoi Theater, and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor at Theater Ulm, just to name a few.
In 2019/2020, he can be seen as Tichon Kabanov in Katja Kabanova at Theater Magdeburg, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Lenski in Eugene Onegin, as well as in the title role of Faust at State Theater Braunschweig.
He was a finalist at the International Salvatore Licitra Competion 2017 in Milano and won 2nd prize at the 2009 international "Vilho Kekkonen" Tenor Singing Competition in Finland.
