Alexander Schulz was born 1976 in Berlin, Germany. He studied in 1995-2001 at the Odessa National Music Academy and in 2001-2004 at the post-graduate course. In 2003 he attended the opera studio of the Deutschen Oper am Rein in Duesseldorf, where he sang his debute role Erik in "Der Fliegender Hollender".
In 2004-2007 he had a contract with the Kammeroper Dresden. His repertoire there included the roles of Tamino (Die Zauberfloete), Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola) and different concert programs. As a guest in 2007 he performed in the roles of Erik and Steuermann in the Landestheater Neustrelitz Germany.
In 2008 he became a laureate of international vocal competition Shtokolov in St.Petersburg. In September of the same year he made his debut at the Odessa National State Opera and Ballet House and later at Lviv National State Opera and Ballet House in Ukraine, where he was engaged for the next years.
His repertoire includes the roles Cavaradossi (Tosca), Alfredo (La traviata), Calaf (Turandot), Manrico (ILTrovatore), Canio(IPagliacci), Duca (Rigoletto), Radames (Aida) and others.
Alexander Schulz is also a frequent guest performer. As a guest, his performances included „Tosca” in Mikhailovsky Theater
St. Petersburg (Russia),”Tosca” and “Il Trovatore” in Opera Nova Bygoszcz (Poland), “La Traviata“, ”Tosca”, ”Rigoletto” in Estonian National Opera, “Rigoletto” and ”Aida” in State Opera Prague by “Verdi Festival“ and “Rigoletto” Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival Turkey.
For the seasons 2012-15 Alexander Schulz was a permanent guest at the Estonian National Opera, National Opera Lviv and in State Opera Prague for Turandot, Aida, Tosca, Il Trovatore, I Pagliacci, Rigoletto and La Traviata.
2012-2014 saw him guest performing “Tannhäuser”, ”Manon Lescaut” in Estonian National Opera, ”Der Fliegende Holländer”, ”Turandot” at the Donetzk State Opera, ”Aida”, ”Tosca”, ”I Pagliacci” at the National Opera Lviv and “Dame Pique” at the Odessa National State Opera and Ballet House.
