Biography
Gaining acclaim on a variety of international stages, Efe Kislali’s performances of the title role in Otello are praised by Seen and Heard International as “brilliant in the high ranges.” In the 2009-10 season, he returns to Prague State Opera for a number of performances including the title role of Otello and Radames in Aida, both in Prague and on tour to Salzburg and various cities in Japan. The tenor made his American debut in the 2008-09 season as Radames in Aida with Baltimore Opera. He also returned to Latvian National Opera for the title role in Otello and Don Jose in Carmen.
In the 2007-08 season, he returned to the Latvian National Opera for Calaf in Turandot, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut, and Radames in Aida. He also sang the latter two roles at the Prague State Theater and sang the title role in Otello and Don José in Carmen in a return to Istanbul State Opera. He also sang Samson in Samson et Dalila in his first performances with the Romanian National Opera and returned to the company later in the season for Renato des Grieux in Manon Lescaut. In the summer of 2008, he sang Radames in Aida at the Festival Gars an Kamp in Austria.
A frequent presence with the Istanbul State Opera, he has sung numerous other leading roles with the company in previous seasons including Pollione in Norma, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Vladimir in Prince Igor, Samson in Samson et Dalila, and Riccardo in Un Ballo In Maschera. He also created the title role in Sabahattin Kalender’s new Turkish opera Deli Dumrul in the work’s world premiere. He has joined the Prague State Opera for previous performances of Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut and Radames in Aida. He has also has sung Manrico in Il Trovatore in Bratislava. Also in previous seasons, he has joined the Hamburg Symphony for Ismaele in Nabucco at the Eutin Festival and the Latvian National Opera for Radames in Aida and Verdi’s Requiem.
