Johan Krogius (*1998) began his musical studies at an early age of three singing as a boy soprano soloist in the boys' choir of the Helsinki Cathedral Cantores Minores.
He began his professional studies at the Helsinki Conservatory, followed by the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki and the Stockholm University of the Arts.
Krogius has been working as a freelance artist singing baroque and renaissance music as well as lied and opera. He performs actively both as an oratorio soloist and as a lied artist.
Krogius won the Timo Mustakallio singing competition in 2021 and the same year, he was awarded with the 1st place in the B series at the Helsinki Lied competition.
As an opera singer, Johan’s lyrical tenor has been heard in roles such as Jaquino, (Beethoven, Fidelio) and Pong, (Puccini, Turandot). In the past season, he has appeared at Jyväskylä Opera (1st Man, The Last Temptations, Joonas Kokkonen) and at Tampere Opera (Tamino, (cover), Magic Flute, W.A.Mozart).
