Tenor Maximilian Mayer was born in Regensburg, Germany.
He completed his vocal studies under Peter Edelmann cum laude at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
In September 2015 he won not only first prize in the musicals and operetta division but also the audience choice prize and the special prize for the best interpretation of a Viennese Lied at the Heinrich Strecker Cross-Over Competition.
He made his debut at Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich in May 2015 as Va- lentin in the Hervé operetta „Le petit Faust“. From 2016 till 2023 he was a soloist in the company of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, where he appeared as Don Ot- tavio („Don Giovanni“), Ferrando („Così fan tutte“) and Tamino („The Magic Flu- te“), among others. He also performed Tamino at Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Theater Dortmund and Staatstheater Kassel.
Furthermore, Maximilian Mayer performed at Semperoper Dresden as Fritz in Of- fenbachs opera bouffe „La grande-duchesse de Gerolstein“, at Theater Heidelberg as Rosillon („The Merry Widow“) and at Theater Koblenz as René at Leo Falls operetta „Madame Pompadour“, among others.
In the year 2023 the tenor will perform as the title role in Bernsteins „Candide“ at Theater Kiel and at Gärtnerplatztheaer in Munich. He will also make his Wag- ner-debut at Staatstheater Kassel as Froh in „Rheingold“.
