Most recent engagements for Australian tenor Paul O’Neill include his debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Don José in Carmen, Janek in Janacek’s The Diary of one who disappeared at the Opéra de Lille, his role-debut in the title-role in Gounod’s Faust at Theater Hagen, Radames in Aida at the Opernfestspiele St. Margarethen, the Verdi Requiem at the Konzerthaus Berlin and Cavaradossi in Tosca, Carlo VII in Verdi’s Giovanna d´Arco and Jason in Cherubini’s Médée, all at Theater Bielefeld.
He sang Laca in Jenufa at the Opéra de Lille, Il Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto at Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Isepo in Ponchielli’s La Gioconda at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Beethoven 9th Symphony and the Carmina Burana with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Turridu in Cavalleria Rusticana at Theater Bielefeld, Il Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto at the Opera Australia in Sydney, Elvino in La Sonnambula with Oper Graz, Rodolfo in La bohème at Bühnen Halle, Seeman and Hirte in Tristan und Isolde with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. With the Berliner Philharmoniker he performed in Mendelssohn’s Elias and in Haydn’s Orlando Paladino.
Future appearances will include Cavaradossi in Tosca at the West Australian Opera in Perth and at Theater Magdeburg as well as the title role in Faust at Theater Münster.
