Tenor Hany Abdelzaher, a regular guest since 2007 at the State Opera of his hometown Cairo (Nemorino, Tamino, Duca, Alfredo, Pinkerton, Rodolfo, Don José...), is a graduate of the Cairo Conservatory and the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, and winner of the 26th International Opera Singing Competition “Spazio Musica” Orvieto, Italy 2021.
Guest engagements have also taken him to Hamburg (Don José with the Hamburger Symphoniker), to Salzburg (Radames in Aida with the Salzburg Philharmonic), to Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro as Don José with the Operosa International Opera Festival, and to the Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy 2018 as Tito in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito with the Vienna Philharmonic.
In 2022, he can be seen a.o. as Manrico in Il Trovatore at the Cairo Opera House.
